Michelle holds an M.A. in Language and Communication and a B.S. in French and Linguistics (with a focus on TESL), both from Georgetown University, in addition to a Graduate Certificate in TESOL from the University of California Berkeley. She is currently working on an Ed.D. in Applied Learning Sciences.

Michelle joined the IEC in January 2022, having taught English in a variety of settings since 1999. Some highlights have included working in programs at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS), Georgetown University, and more recently serving as a Virtual Educator in the U.S. Dept of State English Language Program. In between teaching positions, she worked at the World Bank Institute, developing and delivering online and in-person learning programs on education policy in English and in French for education ministries and development partners worldwide.

Some of her professional interests include business and professional communication, intercultural communication, educational technology, and literacy.
