- 51³Ô¹Ï꿉۪s College of Engineering and Applied Science held steady as a top 20 undergraduate engineering program in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Undergraduate Engineering rankings, maintaining the No. 17 spot among public institution peers.
- The funding will help create a formal pathway to innovation and entrepreneurship through curriculum and experiential learning, with plans to integrate into the broader innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem that is thriving in the Gunnison Valley.
- Professors Nikolaus Correll, Bradley Hayes, Christoffer Heckman and Alessandro Roncone have received a recognition award from the College of Engineering and Applied Science for their work, Introduction to Autonomous Robots: Mechanisms, Sensors, Actuators, and Algorithms, an open textbook focusing on computational principles of autonomous robots.

- A group of mechanical engineering students at the College of Engineering and Applied Science designed and built the prototype with Lockheed Martin for their Senior Design project.
- The Colorado Engineering Council selected Jenna Nielson, a senior majoring in chemical and biological engineering, as this year’s Silver Medal Award recipient. The Silver Medal Award is one of the highest honors an engineering student in Colorado can receive. Nielson also earned an Academic Engagement Award this semester.
- Cyrus Haas is the Outstanding Undergraduate of the College for the 2021-2022 academic year and a recipient of a Research Award for his work with the Whitehead Research Group.
- The students' device makes the disposal of scrap metal safer and more efficient. They completed the design as part of their Senior Design project sponsored by Accu-Precision, a Littleton-based manufacturer of custom parts for customers in aerospace and industrial sectors.
- While studying the properties of fresh versus old snow and the mechanics of sliding on skis and snowboards, students also master engineering concepts related to the mechanics of materials.
- The Early Engineering Exposure Fair, organized by mechanical engineering graduate students, was comprised of 16 interactive exhibits to demonstrate diverse engineering fields such as air quality, wind energy, robotics and microfluids.
