For supervisors, the self-evaluation process is a way to engage you in the performance review process, help give them a broader perspective of your accomplishments for the year, and promotes an open dialogue regarding how expectations and performance align.&nbsp;</p><h2>Tips for Writing a Self-Evaluation&nbsp;</h2><ul><li>Give yourself time. Try to give yourself at least an hour or more to sit down and write your self-evaluation. This is your opportunity to share all you have accomplished and shouldn't be rushed.&nbsp;</li><li>Write out a list of your accomplishments.&nbsp;This is the time to think about what you’ve achieved over the past year. Brainstorm and create a master list of the things you’ve done. For now, include everything you can think of and you can edit it down later.&nbsp;</li><li>Gather relevant data if you can. The time it takes to gather your data will be regained in your ability to tell the story of your performance.&nbsp;</li><li>Align your review with your manager’s or team’s goals.&nbsp;What goals were your manager or team striving to reach over the past year? How did your efforts contribute to reaching those goals?&nbsp;</li><li>Provide insights to your challenges.
